Hellos my fellow Rogue Enthousiasts,

First off, HUZZAH for a new patch with many changes regarding almost every aspect of the Rogue class!
It is a very exciting patch because of the many changes they have brought up to both the Combat and Subtlety specs. I have not tested any of those two specs yet on the bosses so I would love to see some input on them.

Secondly, Blizz seems to have stepped up their game concerning trinket variety.

From the limited amount of forums I've read regarding the Assassination Spec. Different trinket setups will result in very different results in gear balancing and BiS list, however the current most powerful set according to theorycrafters are Assurance+Haromm > Ticking+Haromm, while the sigil itself seems like a very sup-par choice.

Now, let's talk stats about the assassination spec which at least the rogues of the AM team are most concerned about at this point. From what I have done in shadowcraft and simulationcraft, here are some key things I have remarked when setting up a BiS list.

- MASTERY maintains at ~1.4
- You can maintain HASTE at ~1.5, however it definitely have a cap that starts to de-value at one point.
- CRIT depending on trinkets and gear can outweigh MASTERY by a decent amount.

These stats are obtained using all 4 pieces of tier(head, shoulder, chest and legs), warforged BiS gear with both Assurance and Haromm Trinkets on Shintu. Of course with other gears, stats will no doubt change.

I have posted the BiS gear list in the AM discussion section for myself, if any of you could come up with improvements, suggestions, additional resources or just general comments, please do not hesitate to post.

Also I haven't had much time with stat/BiS on other specs if anyone would like to look into those.

About trinkets, an important factor to consider about AoC is that it also reduces CoS's cd. So it could be invaluable for some fights. And even in the few instances where TEB+Haromm's sims higher,
it is only by a very small amount.

Right now it looks like you can use the same set for all specs. Assuming you have at least 1 good weapon for combat. You'd just have to regem/reforge it every time.
Those are the best results I came up with on shadowcraft for all 3 spec so far.
(I copied and slightly modified the reforging/gemming of the combat one from a post on mmo champ that improved what I had for combat by about 2-3k dps, granted I didn't put a lot of time on the combat build...)

The following are some useful tips for T16 Boss fights(credits to the peeps posting on MMO-Champ)
Also discuss with your healers to coordinate Smoke Bomb(Glyphed if possible)

Immerseus

•Run Crippling to slow adds
•Shiv for 70% if necessary
•Can CoS Swirl or Shadowstep to someone on the other side
•Can Feint damage from adds getting to the middle
•DO NOT Shadowstep the boss; it puts you in the middle and you take damage
•(Heroic)You can't CoS off Swelling Corruption, but you can immune its application
•(Heroic) You can build CPs with FoK and you don't gain Swelling Corruption stacks

Protectors

•Can CoS SW: Bane, Calamity, Sha Sear, Corrupting Brew, Corruption Kick, Inferno Strike, and any other magic things I missed
•Feint works for Calamity and Inferno Strike
•Evasion tanking the Mark of Anguish add is very effective
•MN works on Rook's adds (Gloom, Sorrow, Misery)

Norushen

•CoS and Feint work on the pulsing AoE throughout the fight
•Letting DoTs finish off adds in the solo challenge is a good idea [1]
•Crippling works on big adds, but is usually detrimental—don't use it [1]
•MN works on the little adds
•CoS does not prevent corruption gain from the big add's AoE or the AoE from the orb they leave behind

Sha of Pride

•Feint and CoS works on Swelling Pride
•CoS removes Mark of Arrogance and does not cause pride gain

Galakras

•Feint works on Pulsing Flames in the last phase
•Do not try to solo soak Flames of Galakrond with CoS; it needs to pass through people to reduce the AoE to all players at the end
•Kidney Shot and Cheap Shot interrupt the Bonesplitters' channel; Gouge and Blind DO NOT work
•Shadowstep useful for tower in case you get knocked back

Iron Juggernaut

•Elusiveness(min. 580-600k hp to be safe) or Glyphed CoS is enough to soak mines
•Feint works on Seismic Activity
•You can Shadowstep back onto the boss after Shock Pulse
•CoS immunes the knockback from Shock Pulse
•Killing Spree keeps you on the boss through Shock Pulse

Dark Shaman

•CoS works on Foul Stream and the AoE from adds; does not remove Toxic Mist but does prevent damage
•Evasion and CR work against the Ashen Wall
•Rupture multidotting is a good idea since they share a health pool

Nazgrim

•CoS works on the mage add's casts if you can anticipate it going on you
•All non-lethal poisons work on the adds

Malkorok

•Feint works on Imploding Energy and Blood Rage
•CoS works on Breath of Y'Shaarj, Displaced Energy and Imploding Energy

Spoils of Pandaria

•CoS can be used to clear bombs early

Thok

•Feint on Deafening Screech
•CoS clears Corrosive Blood and Icy Blood
•You can melee Thok during the Fixate phase as long as you don't go in front of him
•Vanish clears Fixate

Blackfuse

•CoS clears Superheated if you run over fire
•CoS works on the beams on the Conveyor Belt
•CANNOT Shadowstep to/from the Conveyor Belt

Paragons of the Klaxxi

•CoS doesn't seem to clear anything, but it prevents damage from Fiery Edge
•If you get Mesmirized, you can still Shadowstep anything to increase the distance (calculate the 2s speed boost into this though). Also, do not use any speed boost; you will run at the Kuchong faster

Garrosh Hellscream

•Feint works on Whirling Corruption, if you need to DPS it
•Feint works on Annihilation if no Consumed Courage
•Non-Lethal poisons stays on MCed targets, just don't use one
•Symbiosis Growl taunt works on Minions (useful to separate them)

Thanks for these tips, its very helpful collection. Love the tip about using shadowstep back to the boss if we get blown off the tower on Galakras. Had that happen once when the drake flies overhead and blocks the view of the ground effect. Using Growl on the sha adds on Garrosh is also genius
