malwarebytes is a program to get rid of adware type stuff. free to use and is good. avg is a decent antivirus program

I use Panda cloud antivirus. Works well for me and its free.

Avast anti virus is probably the best you can get. Has a build in software updater, browser cleaner, and when googling, will put a check mark next to the website if it is a secure link to click on.
