Vent Equilizer

I posted this a while back, but with my reinstall today I had to grab it again and thought I'd share it with the community once more.

Create an EQUALIZER for Ventrilo, this is the greatest function of all time for Vent, ever had someone who you could barely hear, and then had someone who was insanely loud? Tired of right clicking someones name > Miscellaneous > Special Effects > Add Volume? Now everyone will be the exact same volume! No matter how loud or quiet they are! Here's what you do.

While connected to a server, click Setup > Stay on the Voice tab > Click the SFX button (it's in the upper right). > Add a "Compressor" option to the "Current" side > Select it and choose Properties.

I'll list the changes of the next options below, so it's easy to view:

Gain - (This is the volume of EVERYONE that you will hear in vent, this depends on a lot of things, start at 6 and work your way up, it is sensitive.)
Attack - 10.00
Release - 500 or so.
Threshold - (-30) That's NEGATIVE 30.
Ratio - 100.0
Pre delay - 4.0

Thanks for posting this info.

One question: If I have volumes adjusted for some players, do I need to reset those individual volumes after setting up the equalizer?

Yeah. You'll have to clear out any person specific settings

Also called normalization, this hasn't worked for me in vent (although it is great in teamspeak).

I will give it another look.

I am using an app two run two instances of ventrilo (one for stream audio and one for RL binds) so that may have something to do with it. I don't really have control over my PC volume.

It will work just fine, Sonic. it works for me (I use it for both my main login and my stream audio login). Let me know if you need help.

Here is a screen shot of the settings I use

Thanks for this! I used to use it to, but have had to rely on personal settings as i forgot this was possible!
