i5's are amazing, you really don't need an i7 for gaming yet, however there's a few advantages to having one at the cost of paying more.

•Hyper-Threading
•Faster Clock Speeds
•More Cache Memory
•Better Power and Heat Management

Due to the better heat and power management, i7's are the CPU of choice for pushing over-clocking as far as it can go, some CPU's are stable at 5.0 ghz + with the right setup (ideally liquid cooling)

When it comes to gaming, if you do not have a bottle-neck anywhere you might not really see a huge difference yet for most games, some modern games are utilizing new technology's that works better with i7's and this will be more of a thing for the future.

As for bottle-necking, you wont really run into that issue with an i5, as they're solid CPU's and can support any high end GPU, anyone with something as old as an i3 can have serious bottle-neck issues running high end components however.

i7's however are the CPU of choice when it comes to production environments though, such as rendering 3D scenes, creating audio, editing media and creating graphics due to hyper-threading.

Other than that, i7's are just for enthusiasts who wish to future-proof and be Ahead of the Curve when it comes to specs.

Nothing fancy, except for the new shiny 34" Curved Acer monitor that I got last week - amazing monitor.
Playing and working with 3440x1440 resolution is just amazing, so much space :P
(yes! it's better than eyefinity setup - I hate bezels)

Mind the cable mess, had to do some troubleshooting last weekend and pulled everything out, being lazy sorting it back properly :P

How does WoW play on that size? One of my biggest complaints about my 3 screen eyefinity setup is that chat bubbles are MEGA HUGE while the text is still normal/small (screenshot below). If using one of those types of displays does not have this same issue, I may be changing my setup real soon!

My current setup. The top display is dedicated to the MacBook and is used for work and playing music during raids

Perfect actually, I know what you're talking about, the chat bubbles and the health bars looks huge, just set up an eyefinity setup for the wife and thats the first thing that pops at you - literally :P
Its a eyefinity issue, well.. wow/eyefinity issue. I read that there are addons for both that can fix it.

The only thing, it is more taxing on your hardware, since eyefinity doesnt "really" give you 5820x1080 (or whatever), the 2 side screen are stretched. 3440x1440 actually uses the whole space, I love it.

But anyway, yeah.. not weird things.

Looks like I am buying a monitor soon then! :D I will probably just go with the single display and use the upper display for logs review and the sort.

Thanks Shock!
