New HD Question

I am upgrading my OS hard drive from a 128ssd to a 512ssd. Is it possible for me to clone my current hd onto the new one so I dont have to backup everything and reinstall windows? All of the other hardware and drivers will remain the same.

Some companies send along software to clone the drive, I know when I did my dads Samsung SSD I could use Samsungs software and it made things real easy

So then a follow up question. Will I be able to clone this current drive while I am using it or will I have to pull it out and clone it on a separate computer that isn't using this OS?

If the new drive is a samsung drive just use their software like aron mentioned - it works really well.
You do it in your computer, just plug in the new drive, boot normally, run the software and follow the instructions, very simple.

Try to avoid using the computer while the process is running.

Once done, restart the computer, set your boot order to boot from the new drive - done.

Awesome guys thanks a lot! I'm going to be getting the Samsung 850 Evo (512gb). This 128gb Samsung just isn't cutting it anymore.
