I am not a hater of modern wow, but this is an excellent read.

It was a good read, and did bring back some nostalgic moments of vanilla! But like many of these posts I've read, the post depicts all roses!

Those few of us that played back in Vanilla will remember that we didn't always feel like a hero. Here's a story about a guy named Jeremy.

Jeremy found this new game called World of Warcraft. The vastness and epicness of the environment and community was unrivaled. After a few MONTHS of leveling he wondered around at max level trying to figure out what to do. He spent 10+ hours PvPing and 20-30 hours a week raiding. Raids took hours of preparation, which included farming for bandages and enough gold for materials to give the raid his class buff. This was not fun, but he did it for hours and hours just to get to raid. PvP was fun if he got into a rare pre-made, otherwise it was a slaughter fest and a complete waste of time.

This of course is my lame story, but to me modern WOW is a much better experience. I can elaborate, but I've said enough...

As an old schooler, I felt it was a great read. It touched up on a lot of my own beefs with recent Blizzard.

One reason I buy gaming guides for each XP is to plot where/how to get all the new patterns, and I hated how in WOD it felt like they were just given to you. No real work involved.
