Make sure you are inserting them correctly as the memory will only go in 1 way. make sure both locks on the sides are fully against the ram chip (hint: if you are having to push the memory into the slot hard, it is backward)

Also make sure you did not pull up the big power connection off your motherboard; it is normally right by the memory.

something is not seated right. if you are using the same hardware as before and you did not zap anything with static charge then it should be fine. So maybe try removing and reseating the memory again or you may need to take it some place to have the memory tested.
I would say to listen to teh boot beeps to get a diagnosis, but PCs these days do not have hte motoherboard speaker anymore for that. most people prob dont even know what i am talking about lol.

do you have any way of uploading a picture of your open case? This may not be something we can diagnose without specific details. ie: indicator lights on the mobo and that kind of stuff

Ignore memory... pull memory and try booting... you should get a series of beeps letting you know that memory is missing. If you aren't getting those beeps, you might have messed up the mb or power supply.
Also sometimes cases need to be closed properly, as they have a switch that needs to be closed else it would take allow your systemom to power up.

Stupid question, but did you turn the psu switch off by where your power cord plugs into the back of your case? I have done that a time or two and forgot.
Nevermid you said it beeped.

Alright three things (in game right now)
Double check all the connections, between the parts in the PC. (Once thought my PSU died when it was just a plug was unconnected)
The RAM should easily slide into place before it clicks.
Does your MB have a LED indicator which will generator error codes?

Alright the CPU's connection sounds fine, but there is a 20/24 pin connection to the east of the CPU. Did you double check that connection?
