Hello!
My name is Shadownoodle (Damien IRL) and Numerical invited me to the guild this morning. I wanted to put myself out there with a short (or not short) introduction.
I'm 38, been married for 17 years and have a 13 y boy and 11 y girl. I am originally from Australia, but now I live in beautiful Lexington, KY. I'm a manager for Panera Bread which keeps me very, very busy. I also own a side-business repairing electronics (phones, laptops, TVs, tablets, Macs etc). My wife is an Elementary Teacher.
I started playing WoW shortly after live launch and have played on-and-off (mostly on) ever since; taking breaks for the births of my kids and for a short time I quit WoW to play SWTOR but quickly came back. For a majority of that time I have raided in some capacity.
in BC I played with Kalimdors Legion (a long-since dead guild) as a Holy Priest. I cleared through Felmyst and then quit for the birth of my Daughter. I came back in early WOTLK as a Rogue and until very recently that was my dedicated main. Personally I cleared Ulduar and did a small amount of ICC before I stepped away to play SWTOR.
I came back to WoW during Cataclysm, and played through a majority of that content, still as a rogue, but never on a super serious level. When MoP hit, I decided it was time to get serious and I signed on as Raid Lead for a guild called Still Alive. Is it bad I can't remember which server we were on!!
In any case during my time with Still Alive I helped build the team from wiping on Normal Stone Guard to clearing through Dark Animus on Heroic. Friction with the guild leader (from my perspective she didn't give me enough freedom to run the raid team the way I saw fit, and from her perspective she didn't have enough input), caused me to step down from that role and eventually leave the guild to raid elsewhere.
I signed on with Vortex on Turalyon and finished out the expansion clearing all raid content. Going into WoD I remained with Vortex (total of about 2 years tenure) before I got the itch to raid lead again. I left Vortex on good terms and joined some friends on Mal'ganis in the guild Punch Line to build and lead the team there. I served from BRF through Mythic Archimonde as their raid leader, still on the Rogue.
At that point I got a promotion at work and I could no longer maintain 100% attendance. As a result I passed the torch and went casual for most of Legion, working on alts and acting as a consultant for the guild leadership. Punch Line persisted until Mythic Gul'dan then succumbed as so many guilds did to burnout. I ended up returning to Vortex.
Unfortunately Vortex had no room for Melee. Also I had really never played a Ranged DPS nor had I ever played Alliance outside of fooling around. I know Stormrage as a well populated realm with plenty of opportunity, so I picked Void Elf and started levelling!
I levelled up in the guild Ascendant, but found they did not have the same goals that I do; that is to build my way back to Mythic Raiding once more. So I was always keeping my eyes open for a new opportunity, and now here I am!
I'm a completionist and love doing anything and everything in the game. So come say Hi!
