Pleth if you can wait like.. 2-3 weeks tops for sandy bridge.. (new intel proc and mobo socket) you can get like 30 percent more performance for 10 percent less money.

To answer your question it looks alright, the 6 core proc+mobo+memory is a crap shoot according the QVL for that board when using a 6 core proc. All the memory they have listed on there site isn't available on newegg.

yeh the 1155 socket processor feels a bit mean tho: here ya go upgrade for your 1156 cpus, but one less pin so not backward compatabile sorry!

The 9xx intel cpu replacement is due late this year?.. something burg but that design is much older than the 1156 weird eh.

Instead of the seagate 1t regular hdd ,do get the
momentus xt 500g hybrid

The i7 9xx stuff is supposedly still the boss ,but you pay more for the icreased mbrd complexity and real triple channel + power consumption will be higher.

The thing about the i5 1.5v is ,applied memory voltage has to be much lower as the memory controller is on chip also.
In other words this memory will work fine with 1.5v in dual channel at these timings ,not that it has to be with an i5 cpu.

If it has to be this weekend? special deals and i7 cost is close like gimme 6gddr3 vs 8g pretendy ddr3 anyday, id go for that..do get the hybrid hdd tho .

yea going to sandybridge requires a new motherboard, but he's replacing that anyway. Also the K procs are about 30 bucks more and complete unlocked. I've seen them at 4.4ghz on air. No voltage changes or anything just turn the multiplier up.
