Or if you have norton and you've bothered to read the popup, just tell the program to ignore the downloader. Took me all of 2 seconds. Haven't tried MSE, though. Maybe I'll save myself $40 next year.

concur with this post on Microsoft security essentials. Free, light, integrated pest protection it's win. It would be included with the operating system by default if this world wasn't so god damn sue happy. I don't see Chevy getting sued by alpine/pioneer/jvc because you get a radio included with your car.

Thats because Chevy doesn't make the radio they buy it from a 3rd party :P

As with all the previous yeas for MSE the number one benefit is that its not a resource hog or have a large overhead like all the other paid services. Its also very damn good at active protection.
