I just got a Droid X on Wednesday.

Anyone know any cool apps, or know any tricks I could check out?

if you have a laptop and want to tether it to your phone, pdanet works well.

Angry Birds helps pass the time while your passing... nevermind.

Be sure to get your authenticator loaded.

Ventriloid lets you ease drop on unsuspecting venters

parkmobile allows you to not worry about change at the meter, when parking in large cities

pandora you can listen to music

If you want to lose weight, and you run / bike, iMapMyRide is cool

GasBuddy to get cheaper gas

Android VNC to be able to log into your system from your phone :) Wow does not support this method of gameplay.

Lots more, what are you trying to do? Goals for your phone? Categorically speaking?

Shop Savvy I think it's called. You scan the barcode of the million dollar tv your about to buy at best buy and it tells you that you can get it for 500k at sears next door, or online.

Pandora is really the only "must-have" app I find, maybe Yelp for finding food when I'm in the middle of nowhere. Sad thing is almost all my other apps on my Droid2 are biotech related.

Advance Task Killer is really good for clearing any apps that are running and draining your battery that you don't want running

First of all, root it!

Angry Birds is a must.
Alarm Clock Plus lets me set an alarm that gradually gets louder until I wake up. I've replaced my alarm clock with my phone.
Calendar Pad Pro. I like the month view a lot better than the default calendar app.
Google Docs (if you use the online feature)
Firefox Mobile to sync with my desktop browser. Also has a readability zoom feature (in options) that I love.
Go SMS Pro is my choice for SMS app replacement. Tons of notification options, as well as optional message popups.
Gtasks to sync with Google Tasks. Has a pretty nice (if plain) widget.
KeePassDroid for password management. Uses the same data file as the desktop version KeePass. Free.
Kitchen Timer is what I use for laundry and such.
Netflix
Photoshop Express for basic photo manipulating.
QuickPic is a very nice gallery replacement.
Google Reader
Sonos controller (finally!)
Soundhound for identifying songs you hear. I think it's an improved version of Shazam.
Weatherbug for forecasts and radar.
Winamp music player. Very slick layout.
WoW remote auction house.

Swype or Swiftkey for a keyboard replacement. I've heard that task killers are generally considered no-nos. That ventriloid app looks pretty slick! I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Enjoy!
