Satellite Internet

My parents sold their primary house and are moving to their carriage house out in the woods about 20 minutes away...

They don't have access to cable or phone lines and are looking into Satellite Internet

They will need a receiver/transmitter, as they don't have the phone lines for the basic satellite internet that relies on phone lines to upload.

Any suggestions on a company for them to look into?

Thanks a ton!

Bell,

Send me their address in PM, I can have my vendors look into it.

Also, what about wireless broadband? How is cellular signal out in the woods? Is 4g available there?

they are currently using their verizon for internet out there but are drastically unhappy with the speed.

They are using one of those verizon usb internet things at the moment, not tethering as in using their phone's internet

Zipcode is 44626, do u need the street address?

Yeah, the zip of rural areas covers a huge expanse, so the street address would be helpful.

THIS IS EAST SPARTA!!!!!!

lol ok down to business...

when i do a couple searches i come up with, http://www.switchtobroadband.com/44626- ... page1.html

but then again i dont have a street address to go off of as sheza said above :P ^

anyway, sattelite internet is rough, its really fast and its quiet expensive compared to everything else they are starting to meter the sattelite internet like phone data plans. that being said, the only "ok" deal i can see on that site is the earth link, Earthlink Satellite Satellite Internet $59.99/mo - Downstream: Up to 5.0 Mbps and even then its like WTF

I used to rock Verizon DSL and it was fuckin horrible. They told me 10mbps and it was perfect for gaming.. I didnt know much back then so i went with it. I recieved it only getting 1mbps and they claimed that was all that was available.. when I demanded to cancel they claimed i had a $175 disconnect fee lol so whatever you do, dont deal with DSL or Fios or any of that shit. Even though I doubt thats satellite and it depends on your area lol
