P235 70R16

I need new tires for my truck, I see all kinds of numbers (i'm shopping Craigslist)

I assume the 16 = the size of the rim, so I cant really change that..

But instead of 70, I see tires at 65 and 75

Help me out

The 235 is the width of the tyre in Mils, the second number is the aspect ratio which is the rim height. The smaller the number here, the thinner the tyre is. Sports cars tend to have very "low profile" tyres. The last number is the Alloy wheel rim size.

Oh and you are not always needed to stick to what is on there already, If you have 70, you can go with 75 providing the well where your tyre sits can take the thicker tyre when going over rougher terrain.

Anyone have any good sites to buy tires cheap?

I am a firm believer of "You get what you pay for". I would never really go cheap on tires, life does depend on them.

You may pay a little more for the service, not really the tires. Everything is usually under warranty and as long as you keep the maintenance on them, balancing and what not is usually close to free. They will also haggle on prices too if you're shopping around. Shop around, print out price quotes where you go, alot of places will haggle on prices to win over the customer.

working in the auto industry for my many years here i have come to not trust goodyears to much. they wear out to quickly. they were putting them on alot of toyotas and they were wearing out in 20k miles which isnt good. uniroyals are still an ok brand, yokohamas and kumhos are good as well. bfg and michelins are still top of the line tires but your going to pay for them. just depends on your budget as well. If your shopping craigslist please do not get used tires.

If you have the money, get a michelin! They have some of the longest millage warranties tire for tire. BFG(which are made by Michelin) are very good as well. I would not put yokohamas or kumhos on my car tho, dont seem to last for me. Try Sams Club if there is one near you. Cant beat the service or the road hazard warranty they give you.

i love the bridestone potenzas i have on my car buld like a little more stick when i replace them but my care comes with run flat tires witch limits my choiceses if i stick to them

keep in mind if you change your tire size, your speedometer is affected.
