Unable to raid 25m with current performance problems

Hello guys, I would like to thank you guys for trying me out, but I will not be able to maintain raiding 25m with my current pc and isp problems. I seem to have ran 25s fine in the past and LFR, but currently since I've joined this server I am having severe, sever latency and performance issues with my pc and my internet connection and after these 2 weeks of doing 25s they aren't playing nice together and it is destroying my raid performance. It has gotten to the point where I had to speak with Blizz tech support and they tell me it has more to do with Time warner cable in my eastern NC area, and to hammer the problem I have to go through them, mention these issues and the fact that it's wow, etc, and yadda yadda. I have experienced something like this in the past, but it was very slight. Right now going from TWC/BLIZZ tech supports are getting me nowhere. As is, this is unacceptable by my own standards as well as yours and I will not continue raiding or playing for that matter until I have hampered out these issues. I am aware of the guidelines, policies, and procedures on all the issues of how this affects me as far as being a guildmate and/or future member. Wish you guys the best of luck in mop, future xpacs, and irl.

correct me if im wrong but i thought all of NC used insight as well. When I was at Bragg they used at&t which insight runs off of. Now i could be wrong. BUT I will say I had the same back in vanilla when I was on madoran playing with some army buddies. eventually it settled when i came to this server.

Could be the high population on the server, not to include the type of computer your running on and its specs.

Also be sure the plug is in all the way (stupid comment but its true). I had a buddy who could not stay connected, thought it was his ISP but turned out the plug from his line was bad. Needless to say it kept falling out. Again sounds stupid but it does happen.

hmm thats odd i actually live on the eastern side of charlotte, NC and i also have timewarner and i have had zero problems since i been on this server.

do you run off a router? if so have you tried your connection going straight through your modem? what connection(meg) do you have through them?

go to speedtest.net and link what is says if you dont mind i might be able to help you out as i have some experience with networks...

You know, some people have been telling me it had to do with the server population as well. Idk how or why this would be giving me such unplayable lat, but that's not my area of expertise. I have a 5mb connection and I do use a router with 2pc's and ps3 hard connection. I did try the straight to modem connection as well, both blizz and twc had me do that. Here is the speedtest results http://www.speedtest.net/result/2126746650.png only was getting 3mb down at the time, but i'm paying for 5..:( It gets so bad, I was on a test dummy and some bgs the other day, and my spells were comming so freaking late, but yet my lat was green-yellow at that time. If it gets red, it's just totally unplayable. My pc specs aren't that bad i5-2500 3.3ghz 8gb ram and a 6850 1gb...and I'm not maxing out the visuals. Even turned off all add-ons and still got it bad.

Something is stealing your bandwidth. Your not using a wireless router at all are you? if someone got connected to your wireless somehow and started downloading anything it would take most of the bandwidth to get that file. When I was in Iraq we all had to run off wireless and on the same server. Imagine 1500 soldiers on the same server at one time. Latency was never under a 1k ping. Even when connect via lan. So many people downloading shit made loading facebook or at the time myspace damn near impossible.

i live in charlotte and also have TWC as my isp. i was having issues when DS first came out....the PM team can tell you this lol. there was a bad adhoc or something between me and chicago. just gotta find a dns that can bypass it and you should be good to go. i honestly forget what i did since my brother-in-;aw is the one that helped me out while he was here and he works for TWC lol.

I run a wired router. I did go outside and make sure none of the old skool cable theifs had gotten to my line though, and deathpal, blizz was saying something about I need to tell TWC to allow something throough in my area, can't think of it atm...but then TWC said from everything they can see, I have no issues and that it's "the game". I don't know anything about this bad adhoc or new dns to pass through, but i'll get on to checking that out next.

well from your speedtest, you are are running 26meg which is really good, your ping is also good mine is usually 40ish so i dont see no problems there.

but yea like deathpal said if you have wireless make sure you have a password and if you do already might want to change it.

another thing is try to open your ports.

http://portforward.com/cports.htm

that site will have the ports numbers to open and if you dont know how to do it it has a how to do it guide. or you could DL the program that does it for your, but i never used it so not sure how it works.

if worried about the site its a site battlenet recommends for connection problems(not saying much), so id say its atleast halfway legit!

another thing i recommend is how old is the cable lines? make sure all the connections are tight and making a good connection, but honestly with your speedtest.net results i dont see that being an issue.

but i remember like back in firelands i was having modem troubles and i had the service people come out and the connection at the street was loose the guy said, he thinks there was someone out there messing with it trying to get free cable so if this is a new problem you never had before might just want them to send a tech guy out to check all the lines if anything the tech guy can put a booster on the line which can help you out alot if the signal is week.

Haven't done anything with ports since i moved and had my new setup going. I'll check that out, and as far the cables, really didn't think of that. Getting the tech guys out was next step, so I'll be doing that next. Either way I appreciate the help from you guys and will not be responding back for a bit as I need to take more time to figure this out. Wish I could finish playing the game and setting up for mop with you guys, but this issue is affecting more than just my game time, gotta get on the ball and get it st8. Hehe, all the ppl who responded names start with D..:D Thx guys.

also have the tech guy that comes out make sure your cables are not grounded. He should know what that means. My dad had an issue with his internet going in and out due to a cable being grounded when i lived with him. Just so many issues that could be causing the problems with your game.

well, turns out, there is 0 problems comming from the twc dude, but blizz is still saying it is. It's rather frustrating, but got new cables, modem, router, fresh install of everything that matters. Blizz told me they would offer me a free server xfer, since it is only happening to my characters on this server. I think it would be beneficial to take them up on this offer while I still have an active account b4 mop. It is what it is. thanks for those who tried to help. take care.

like i said i live in charlotte and have time warner. back at the begining of DS i had the same issues as you are having and it was the connection between here and the chicago datacenter were the stormrage server actually is. my brother in law helped me out and bypasses the bad adhoc it was going through and have had zero problems ever since.
