Not sure who takes care of the website maintenance but making a captcha parse on signing up would deter every single automated spam bot.

Its still enabled, I just checked...

We ask for the 8 letter name of the company that made World of Warcraft.... maybe we should step that up a bit in difficulty?

Also, Tigridia...

It seems Dillweed and I are banning the IP Addresses for spammers, and I've noticed the same few IP's over and over... how are they posting if their IP was banned the first time?

Any chance in making a random 8 letter / number generated image so there would never be automated bots again. As if its just enter the producer of wow, a person could go to the site, get the successful "word" and then the bots would be programmed to enter "well everyone would know this answer."

Difficulty doesn't matter, since it was a human that answered the question and passed it on to the bots. Simply changing the Q&A should be sufficient. He will likely give up once he realizes that he is wasting his time.

Move a post that was posted from a banned IP to the admin forum and I will have a look.

Captchas are surprisingly ineffective. Many bots can easily read them. Sometimes they are even better at it than humans.

We switched from captcha to Q&A years ago and the amount of spam dropped significantly.

Well Damn. I went to college for IST and (yeah its been a few years since i've graduated) but captchas were the best known thing when I was in school.
Perhaps a question that someone would have to answer and then a captcha? (making it look to the human who would be trying it for the bots --> nearly impossible?)
