Current state of warlocks (11/26/14)

Just a quick link to what I'm referring to:

Although you can't take sims as anywhere close to real numbers.
The recent destro nerfs, yes this is a MASSIVE nerf even if it looks like quite a big buff.:
Destruction

Chaos Bolt damage has been increased by 8%.
Conflagrate damage has been increased by 8%.
Immolate damage has been increased by 8%.
Incinerate damage has been increased by 8%.
Rain of Fire damage has been reduced by 60% and no longer generates Burning Embers.
Shadowburn damage has been increased by 8%.

Has destroyed most of what destro can do regarding AOE dps. The over the top nerf (imo) of rain of fire has gimped our ember generation in single target and aoe, and has reduced the amount of chaos bolts you are currently able to use. Our cleave has dropped significantly because of the lack of embers we will have in low crit gear level. On the other hand, aoe dps has been increased if we use Charred Remains, but ONLY if you use it. Standard aoe rotation is now unviable for t17 unless RoF is put back to where it was before.

On the bright side of things, Affliction and demonolgy have both been buffed by 10% ish:
Affliction

Agony damage has been increased by 20%.
Unstable Affliction damage has been increased by 20%.

Demonology

Shadow Bolt damage has been increased by 25%.
Soul Fire damage has been increased by 25%.
Touch of Chaos' damage has been increased by 25%.

Demonbolt's (Demonology) damage has been increased by 10%.
Soulburn: Haunt (Affliction) now extends up to 130% of its normal duration when refreshed, similar to periodic effects.

On the realistic side though, the buff to demonbolt hinders demonolgy's movement and is not enough to compensate for the lack of buffs to Hand of Gul'dan or Corruption. The nerfs from 6.0 level 90, have still hurt they spec even though blizzard has buffed shadow bolt, Soul fire, and ToC by 25%.

Affliction will still be a worthless spec until late into Blackrock Foundry, solely due to the lack of haste on gear (unless things change).


Just some other simcraft links. Locks sneak into mid pack range later in t17, but in reality, the movement in the fights makes destro lose a ton of dps with no KJC or RoF to constantly produce embers.
