Years ago, I used to stream something I called "Radio Vey" (my main's name was Veylla back then). I had a dedicated PC running 24/7 in the corner of my room for the sole purpose of doing nothing but streaming music.
I'm getting creative and trying to figure out how to get that up and running now without the added expense/hassle of an additional PC.
I've created a additional 'user' on my kids computer, installed vent and winamp, configured winamp to output into a USB sound stick (a usb device that both has a headphone out and microphone in) and used a double male speaker cord to go out of the headphone jack and into the microphone jack.
I've recreated it as "Radio Bell"
He can load his user up, still watch his Curious George (the sound plays through the default sound device, on board motherboard, and through his speakers)... seems to be working without interruption.
I queued up a 24/7 internet radio station and letting that stream for the next couple days to give it a good test. If all goes well, I'll upload my collection of MP3's and stream those... they should provide a better quality than the internet radio that is playing now.
Any questions, or suggestions, please toss them here.... otherwise, enjoy the music! Let me know if it stops working or you hear an episode of Curious George
